    An Untimely Death

    June 13th, 2009

Unlike The New York Times, which habitually ignores true stories (John Edwards’ extramarital affair) but has no compunction about printing entirely false ones (Sen. McCain’s falsified liaison), nothing on this site is made up.

Everything that’s on here the politician concerned has either been accused, or convicted, of doing.  Or s/he just did it without any accusation/conviction, as what’s been done is not illegal, just criminally stupid.

    Either way, there’s no fabrication.

And with that disclaimer out of the way, I now venture forth into the uncharted (for me) land of conjecture and slander.

I can see why it’s done.  Making up outrageous lies is an awesome way of boosting your readership.

Which leads me to John Ruff.  A key figure in the Blagojevich/Burris/Chicago/Democratic scandal, he tragically died this week when his car smashed into a tree -  police have stated that alcohol is not to blame.

This has echoes of the mysterious death of Dr. David Kelly in the UK a few years back.  Dr. Kelly was outed by the national media as the man behind claims that the Blair government had “sexed up” a dossier on Iraq’s weapons capability in order to support more strongly the case for war.  He was subsequently found dead days after appearing before the Parliamentary committee charged with investigating the scandal.

Gone are the days of witnesses/opponents conveniently dying in plane crashes – they just aren’t that subtle (not that subtlety bothers Russia in the slightest).

Well, we at least know that Patti Blagojevich doesn’t have a hand in it, as she’s currently in a jungle somewhere.

As for the rest of them – anything’s possible.

Ask Not For Whom The Bell Tolls

    April 2nd, 2009

See, that’s just not normal.  Who bares their teeth like that, Hannibal Lecter aside?

And don’t even get me started on that bouffant.  Is it real?  Is it alive?

Here’s something to make you smile: Rod Blagojevich has been charged with 16 felony counts (among them racketeering conspiracy, wire fraud, extortion conspiracy and making false statements to federal agents).

Keeping him company in the dock are his brother, two top aides, a chief fundraiser and a political power broker.

    Good times!

    Legacy Assured

    March 8th, 2009

    History will remember Senator Burris.

Of all the possible reasons why, this one would be far from the worst.

Forgive me for riding roughshod over States’ rights, but legislation of this kind should have been enacted long ago.

Playing hand-me-down with elected office is not a wonderful way of promoting liberal-democracy.

Maybe we should ask, ahem, Young Jeezy for his opinion.

    Man Of The Century

    March 4th, 2009

For having the sheer effrontery to embark upon his media assault proclaiming the innocence that even my toothbrush knew did not exist.

And that Letterman appearance. (Closely followed by Joaquin Phoenix, two great interviews by Letterman.)

Wonderful.  We should make recalcitrant politicians undergo public humiliation more often.
