Time To Do A Sanford (But For Good)

    June 28th, 2009

    I love being right.

What was the title of my last post on John Edwards, again?  Oh yeah, it was Things Can Always Get Worse.

Didn’t quite expect it to happen this quickly, though.

John Edwards’ former aide, rival to be the father of Rielle Hunter’s baby and current arch-enemy, Andrew Young, is now alleging that there’s a tape of Edwards and Hunter gettin’ down and dirty.

Maybe it’s just me, but I’d rather go watch Transformers again than ever glance at something like this (plus I wouldn’t be surprised if the camera is only aimed at John Edwards’ spectacular $400-per-cut hair for the whole time), although its mere existence fills me with unbridled joy.

For this is the end of the scumbag known as John Edwards.

Let it be a lesson to anyone else: cheat on your terminally-ill wife and the good Lord is gonna whup you upside the head something good.

Anyone know of a good bathroom for Edwards to go hide in (again)?

    Things Can Always Get Worse

    June 22nd, 2009

This’ll teach John Edwards to be a scumbag of the highest order.

To begin, though, let us briefly recap his chronicles of scumbaggery.  Not because any of us have forgotten, but to set the appropriate mood for what follows.

Step 1) Edwards cheats on his terminally-ill wife.

Step 2) Apparently unbeknownst to these two consenting adults, sex can – and did – lead to pregnancy.

Step 3) Edwards, showing the true depth of his wisdom, decides to pay baby mamma Rielle Hunter hush-money from his presidential campaign.

Step 4) All hell breaks loose, as the FBI and IRS look into the case, Hunter goes back-and-forth on wanting Edwards to take a paternity test and, best of all, another actor in this squalid tale emerges.

His name is Andrew Young (photo right) and he was a campaign worker for Edwards.

But the exciting part is this: Young “claimed to be the father of Hunter’s child and was paid to take her into his home for eight months.”  The home that he already shared with his WIFE and THREE KIDS.

    Wow.

This is perhaps the dumbest cover-up of all time.  Young admits to an affair with Hunter, then takes a pregnant Hunter home to his wife and kids, where they all play nice in a post-nuclear family, and is paid for doing so?

    Rrrright.

There are plenty of people stupid enough to believe what politicians say but this is pushing it.

Andrew Young is now hawking a tell-all book around publishers, who are apparently a little reluctant to bite.  Edwards, after all, is one of the good guys – he’s a Democrat.

I wish Young all the success in the world in exposing the cretinous John Edwards.

    Please Let It Be True

    April 4th, 2009

John Edwards, self-regarded Most Beautiful Man Alive, is one of the most odious examples of the duplicitous politician.  His wife is dying and he did the dirty on her.

A finer example of scumbag behavior, I do not know.

The National Enquirer is reporting that a federal grand jury in Raleigh is investigating whether former Edwards violated campaign-finance laws in his 2008 bid for president by making payments to Rielle Hunter, his bit on the side.  The investigation purportedly also involves the FBI and IRS.

I know what you’re thinking.  The National Enquirer normally specializes in Richard Gere/gerbil-type stories (am I going to get sued for mentioning that?), but there are sometimes nuggets of gold among their droppings.

For now, the mere suspicion that this could be happening is enough for me.

Saturday has gotten off to a wonderful start.

    Whoopsie

    February 26th, 2009

Cheating on your terminally-ill wife is just about the lowest form of behavior possible.

Didn’t stop him from running for president, though.

Politicians are entitled to a private life, but an indiscretion this large calls into question that person’s entire set of values and ability to exercise sound judgment.

If he’s that comfortable betraying the person closet to him, then how would he have treated the rest of us from afar?
