Yeah, I know that everyone and his dog is crapping all over Janet Napolitano’s invisible intelligence (click here for easily the best title on the ‘net -- yes, the whole ‘net -- regarding her claim that some random Euro beating up the poor little Nigerian is proof positive that DHS anti-terror measures are working better than ever), but I’d like to analyze a different aspect of the interview.
Namely, WTF is she wearing?
Since when has the turtleneck plus tan leather jacket (almost certainly a fake, too, judging by its plasticky appearance and sh*te hang) combo ever been a good idea? Has Jan not bought any clothes since the 1970s? Or was she deliberately going for the oldschool porno look?
What a frackin’ mess. And let’s not even get started on her toilet-brush haircut, either.
If someone can’t be trusted to dress themselves without *cough*Michelle Obama*cough* f*cking it all up to hell and back, don’t put them in charge of the nation’s security, Barry.
Read some of the comments over at I Hate The Media (linked to above), should you go over there. Napolitano really is only a hair-net away from being the ultimate personification of the school dinner lady…
The latest thorn to be removed by nothing more than a stroke of the pen is the troublesome Global War on Terror. Janet Napolitano has junked the term GWoT because, in her opinion, it does not describe accurately the nature of the terrorist threat to the US.
Napolitano tries to bring in the intellectual big guns to justify her pointless change, stating that:
“One of the reasons the nomenclature is not used is that ‘war’ carries with it a relationship to nation states in conflict with each other and of course terrorism is not necessarily derived from the nation state relationship.”
Which, essentially, is a long way of saying blah-de-blah-de-blah.
Talk about focusing on the abstract rather than the reality. I don’t care about the origins of the nation-state and how applicable that may be to international terrorism – I only care about terrorists being killed into line.
CNS News is reporting that the DoJ has launched an investigation into the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office in Arizona, following requests by congressional Democrats and allegations by groups such as ACORN that it has violated the “civil rights of illegal aliens.”
There’s a small problem with that last sentence.
Illegal aliens. Civil rights.
They DO NOT have any here in the US. Hence the term ILLEGAL alien.
Blame does not rest solely with lowly DoJ officials, though. They’re only following the example set by Janet Napolitano.
And, please, before there are any squeals of protest, I myself am a legal alien. Whoosh, took the rug out from under your feet, didn’it?
Because, wow, investigating those at your department who were trying to do their job (see, that’s always problematic, better to just talk about doing your job instead) is a fantastic start.
As an immigrant (legal) in the US myself, can I say what others are determined not to? I would have no problem with an administration using me as a figurehead to enforce immigration policy. As one of the (again, just so we’re all clear, legal) huddled masses, I can take the hits.
