    Don’t Look Back In Anger

    May 19th, 2009

If I were in charge of things, then former politicians would be required to take some kind of menial job upon leaving office.

Something to disabuse them of the notion so commonly held by our rulers that they’re special.  So the more humble the job, the better – I’m thinking that cleaning public toilets would be a good start.

And, praise the Lord, it looks like Harry Reid might not have to wait much longer before returning to the real world.  According to one poll carried out by a Nevada newspaper, nearly half of the respondents would vote to replace Reid (while one-third would re-elect him).  I’ve always loved Nevadans.

As masters of groundless optimism, politicians always focus on the positive and Reid will certainly tell himself that the glass is one-third full.  But there must still be doubts gnawing away at what passes for his brain.

This, let us all recognize, is the predictable result of doing nothing but spewing venom for years and years.  None can doubt your crazed fervor, Harry, but not many are fooled by it either – deprived of your senseless rantings about imaginary enemies, you are a sad, empty shell of a man.

    Now begone (please please please)!

    Nothing Is Beneath Me

    March 26th, 2009

    I should’ve known better.

One of the posts below concerns excreble attempts to force the Palins into financial (and thus political) submission.

And I made the mistake of stating that few things were as pathetic as that.  Sen. Reid obviously took offense at being temporarily outshone as one of the least enviable human beings alive.

So, in his latest fundraising email,  he states that the “Limbaugh-led Republican party” is trying to “take me out.”

Yes, aren’t you just the persecuted soothsayer, Harry?  That line of attack sure has gotten old quickly.  In case you hadn’t noticed (and that can be excused, given the appalling start to the Obama administration), your faction is in office.

Second Verse, Same As The First

    March 7th, 2009

Harry Reid’s latest brainwave is for the Feds to take over the power grid.

    That’s original.

It’s scary how socialists always revert to government as the one answer, no matter what the question.

It would be like me deciding never again to say “no”, and have my one and only answer be “yes.”  Except even that would bring better results than this.

State control of utilies does not work.  The service will either be grossly expensive or ruinously bad.  Or probably both.  It has evidently not worked in dozen of countries, including Europe until the wave of deregulation during the last couple of decades (and don’t please yell “China!” at me, because you’ll be disqualified for mentioning that freaky hybrid regime).

The state cannot dispense its current functions in a satisfactory manner: why would anyone want to add to the burden?

    Clash Of The (Self-Regarded) Titans

    March 7th, 2009

Gaawwwwwddddddd!  I would have done anything to have seen this!  Please, please, please let it have been secretly filmed, somehow (even if that means that the Chinese have successfully infiltrated Congress).

Imagine an f-bomb laden smackdown between Pelosi and Reid.  I’m literally wiping drool offa my keyboard at the very thought of it.

Here’s how it went (in my mind):

Pel: Why haven’t you passed the f***ing bill yet – do you doubt our cause?

Reid: Oh, that’s rich.  I can spend the f***ing public’s money faster than you the f*** can!

Pel: Oh yeah? Oh yeah?  Well go ahead and f***ing try, mister.  This is just the beginning and this little f***ity bill right here pales in comparision with what I got planned!  F***********k!

    Reid: F***********k!

I’m pretty sure it went something like that, anyway.

    This Background Is Not Ironic

    February 27th, 2009

If I were a little more cynical, I’d say that a pattern’s emerging.

Does this mean it’s going to be my turn soon?  Seems like everyone else just falls into money at the most opportune moments.  And not for the first time, either.

Champagne socialists, you’ve gotta love ‘em.
