Via Moe Lane.
The simple things in life truly are the best (along with my wicked awesome iPod Touch, that is. Best. Toy. Ever.)
Such as choosing which photos to use on my blog. I’ve used maybe a half dozen photoshopped pics in 350+ posts. As good as they often are, there’s not so much need for them when politicians, those old publicity-whores, are so willing to be snapped in all kinds of foolish poses.
Like the one above.
Chris Dodd doing serious! Intellectual mode on! Blue Steel!
When he’s not making “waitress sandwiches” with the aid of another fat old man from the Senate, Dodd likes to equate waterboarding with Nazi atrocities, the Holocaust, Soviet show trials and so on.
Because he really is that stupid (and desperate enough to divert attention away from his own no-noes).
Tosser.

In what is hopefully (but probably not) the first concrete sign of a national awakening, Taegan D. Goddard is reporting that Sen. Dodd has achieved the impossible – he’s managed to eke donations out of only five CT residents so far this year.
Five whole people! Five! More people gave me money than that in the last week alone!
If you’re going to prove over and over again that being chubby and useless are your defining characteristics, then donations are going to take a pretty severe hit.

Sen. Dodd’s wife, Jackie, is a former director of a Bermuda-based company controlled by AIG.
Meanwhile, Sen. Dodd himself is the number two recipient of political contributions from AIG (with the top spot going to the big man himself, President Obama).
I wonder if this could possibly have had anything to do with Sen. Dodd’s 11th hour decision, requested by Tiny Tim, to include an amendment that enabled all their pals at AIG to award themselves such generous, taxpayer-funded compensation packages in the first place?
(Note for those outside the US: said AIG bonuses scandal revolves around AIG’s incompetence, subsequent receipt of oodles of taxpayer money and decision to then effectively lavish these public funds on huge bonuses for its employees! I’m so glad that we’re subsidizing this kind of behavior!)
Politicians have always lined their own pockets – and those of their cronies – without a moment’s hesitation, but never before has it been done so brazenly, so overtly and so comprehensively as it is now.
Revolutions have started for less than we are witnessing from the Democrats.
PS – As we’re talking about Sen. Dodd, it would be remiss of me not to mention the source of his infamy: the legendary “waitress sandwich.” Go get ‘em, Chris – just ignore everyone who says that you’re a fat, ugly, old man.

She’s perfect for our waitress sandwich!
When I first read about this, it had me in stitches. Awful for the waitress(es) involved, but the image of these two doing that…. hilarious.
For plain old weird behavior, this is priceless.
Nevertheless, aside from being forced to endure anything involving Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi together, this is pretty much the worst tag-team conceivable.

This little piggy went to market, this little piggy stayed at home and this little piggy (allegedly) accepted a sweetheart deal on his mortgage from Countrywide Financial.
If only politicians were as dedicated to redressing the problems America faces as they are to mining every last conceivable boon from their position.
