    The Good Ol’ Boy Network

    July 13th, 2009

Confirming its status as the irresistible peanut-butter and jelly (or “jam” for any passing British readers) combination of the political world, the stupidity and corruption twofer has made another strong showing in recent days.

Its host body this time is Gov. Bill Ritter (D-CO), pictured above in authentic See, I’m a real American, too! mode. Here’s the stupid part.

    And now for the corruption.

According to CBS4 Denver, which helpfully omitted any reference to Ritter being a Democrat, Ritter “awarded some of the state’s first stimulus money to his former employer in a no-bid contract.”

This is bad enough but, as per usual, it quickly gets worse: Ritter hired his former law firm, Hogan & Hartson (which has so far profited to the tune of 40,000 taxpayer dollars), to review stimulus spending.

    Satisfaction guaranteed!

The Grand Canyon-sized conflict of interest contained therein is apparently invisible to idiot Ritter.

Illegal Aliens 1, US Citizens 0

    April 5th, 2009

It’s fair to say that Gov. Bill Ritter (D-CO), above left, is not the sharpest tool in the shed.

After initially confirming deep cuts to the higher education budget, he then admitted that illegal immigrants would be allowed to pay in-state tuition at public universities and colleges (granting them, in effect, scholarships).

    Eh?

If this is a ploy to lure illegal immigrants out into the open, so that the authorities can round ‘em up and chuck ‘em out, then it’s awesome!

If, on the other hand, it’s part of the Democrats’ ploy to flood America with new and loyal “honorary” citizens, then it’s not so great.

Providing incentives to entering the US illegally is not a wonderful way of reducing the number of those doing it.

    Moron.
