Track-A-’Crat: The Roll Call of Democratic Delinquency

Rep. Alcee Hastings – y’know, the impeached former federal judge who even fellow Democrats (except Nancy Pelosi) couldn’t stomach as the mooted chairman of the House Intelligence Committee – has already secured his place in the annals of History’s Most Stupid People through this intelligence-obliterating statement.

But, proving once more that the combination of stupidity and ambition should never be underestimated, Hastings is now going one better, proposing an amendment to the defense authorization bill that gives Attorney General Eric Holder sole discretion to label groups that oppose government policy on guns, abortion, immigration, states’ rights, or a host of other issues as terrorists!

Yeah!

If this seems familiar, that’s because Janet Napolitano’s DHS had previously proposed virtually the same thing.

Hastings, though, takes the concept one step further with another bill (HR 645) authorizing $360 million in 2009 and 2010 to set up “not fewer than six national emergency centers on military installations.”  Said centers could be used for “a large number of individuals affected by an emergency or major disaster.”

But the bill also states that the Secretary of Homeland Security can use the camps “to meet other appropriate needs.”

Such as detaining those (conservatives) whom Holder has determined are domestic terrorists, possibly?

Gross, gross stupidity of this kind should invalidate one’s ability to vote, get elected and even drive.

Is Congressman Alcee Hastings, who used to be a federal judge.

Until he was impeached and removed from office for corruption and perjury, that is.

I’m pretty sure it used to be more common to go to jail after convictions, as opposed to Congress, but it would seem that I’m mistaken.

Certainly, the Democratic Party is all about giving people a second chance.  And a third.  And a fourth.  Etc.

Criticizing Sarah Palin for being married, successful, female and having children is nothing new.  The bizarre twist with Hastings’ charge against Sarah Palin was this:

“Anybody toting guns and stripping moose don’t care too much about what they do with Jews and blacks. So, you just think this through.”

What?

Hate to tell you this, Alcee, but I have thought it through and your statement makes no sense.  Whatsoever.  In fact, it hurts my brain just thinking about this stream of non-sequitur words.

Even Rep. Corrine Brown would be embarrassed by this level of gibberish.
