Goodbye For Now
Friends, it’s been increasingly difficult to keep the posts comin’ recently, as you’ve no doubt noticed. I’m still insanely mad at all the crooks, criminals and communists who hold power over us, and it’s not like I’ve become any better at meekly accepting that sad fact.
What has changed, though, is that my wife and I are heading back to the United Kingdom. There’ll be a general election in early May, the Conservatives will win (well, to be more accurate, the party that still calls itself the Conservative Party, not that there’s much conservative about it at all, will win) and I’m going back to see if there is anything small that I might be able to do to help repair my country.
And if that doesn’t work out, then I’ll probably return to teaching, having loved the brief time that I spent over here teaching history and international relations. Heck, I might just go and teach, anyway, it was far more fulfilling than any other job that I’ve had.
I didn’t want to post this, but feel that I should let you guys know what’s going on, rather than letting the site fade into oblivion (although I am on the cusp of 200,000 views and was sorta tempted to see if I could break that barrier without posting at all). And also because my wife got me some nifty Track-A-’Crat business cards for Christmas, just in time for me to… stop… writing… on the site.
I’m still going to post on The Green Room (and here) from time to time, so stop by once in a while and maybe there’ll be a surprise waiting for you. I’ve massively enjoyed doing this, and that’s almost entirely due to somehow being found by all of you. Ranting for its own sake is always enjoyable, but nowhere near as much fun as having other people join in the frenzy, whether they’re more balanced or even more furious (you know who you are, for both categories).
Please keep in touch, particularly if you’re ever headed to the UK. Not sure yet where we’ll be based over there, but it’d be wonderful to put some faces to names/pseudonyms.
Knowing what I’m like, we’ll almost certainly be back in the States to live at some point. I love the people and the place too much to stay gone for good and, while Europe is looking kinda f*cked, the US will persevere.
The final word goes to Senator McCain. Yes, I know, RINO imposter and all that, but the slaughter would have been even worse had we been represented by anyone else in 2008. If only the rest of his campaign could have been as potent as the raw energy on display when he delivered the finest speech of his candidacy:

I will so miss your humor and your biting wit. I have enjoyed reading your diatribes and wicked finger-pointing the last few months.
I’m sure you’ll be back someday, we Americans and our messed up country tend to grow on visitors. In the meantime, you know where to find me.

Best of luck in your new beginnings/beginning again.
I lived in East Anglia many (many)years ago, and still keep in touch with my old landlords. Even visited a few years back.
I’m an Anglophile from way back. Were it not for the fact that winter is 11 months long, I might like to move back myself. Those 3 weeks of Summer just don’t quite do it.:-) Still, I’d visit again in a heartbeat and probably will.

Well, crumbs to this. Your blog has been an enjoyable one for me to visit daily and I’ll miss it. You have a gift for saying all the things I’m not eloquent enough to say. Good luck in the UK. It’ll be interesting to watch the political scene there as we in the US continue watching the systematic dismantling of our Constitution and everything we’ve ever stood for. Guys, deep thanks to you all for your kind words. Knowing that you found something worth reading here, at least once or twice, means a lot to me. And your generosity is making me wish that I hadn’t nuked my own site through this announcement…
I didn’t reply earlier as wifey and I were making our way to the UK. We’re here for two weeks now, before going back to the US for a short while, then returning to the UK again.
I’m pretty anxious about moving back permanently: it’ll be great to be nearer to the family, but there are so many things that I prefer about the States…
Anyway, I will keep y’all posted as to what happens in the UK. Updates won’t be anything like as regular as during T-A-C’s prime, but developments of some significance will appear here. The first of which is that my doggie, which I was amazed had clung to life long enough to be around for the wedding last year, is still alive and kicki… well, still alive, at any rate.
So it’s been a good start, and I have some meetings next week that could put my mind (and Sarah’s) far more at ease about the relocation. When I know more, so will you.
