Sheila Dixon Should Be In Prison

Aw, man.
C’mon, pleeeeeze?
I really wanted to see Sheila Dixon, who fearlessly stole from the poor to enrich herself, get some quality jail time. I’d be a blubbering mess if ever I had to face the possibility of going to the slammer, but that’s why I took the genius decision not to embark upon a life of crime, unlike Dixon.
Unfortunately, she agreed a plea deal with prosecutors that allows her to avoid jail by resigning from office (which is why no-one ever resigns from office upon being arrested: it’s simply too good a chip to hand over before the bargaining begins).
And just in case that slap on the wrist is too harsh, she also gets to keep her $83,000 a year pension and will be able to run for office again in two years time.
There’s apparently been a secret revision of the criminal justice code whereby sentencing is now intended to neither punish the guilty nor deter the imminently-guilty. Guess it must’ve been master-minded by the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals, then.
Is there some kind of law that prevents a certain number of Democrats from being imprisoned all at the same time? A corruptocrat quota, perhaps?
How guilty must politicians be before being given a well-deserved stay in correctional facilities?

Well, she is apparently not guilty enough. How much pressure was the prosecutor under to cut this deal? Enough to make him want to protect his career? His financial future? His chance to run for policital office?

Exactly, Arby.
The opposite should be the case, though. Were I a lawyer, I would take as many cases prosecuting corrupt politicians as possible, ensure that they were all jailed, then run on that platform.
Run on an anti-corruption plank, chuck in some tax-cutting and government-slicing on the side, and that candidate would be invincible.

Well, it’s obvious that she has not done enough to warrant a stay in jail according to the prosecutor. Amazing, the loons are running loose.

Too funny @ Is there some kind of law that prevents a certain number of Democrats from being imprisoned all at the same time?
Sounds like she has some powerful people in her corner which could have possibly prevented her from prison.
Either that, or she knows something we don’t.
