Sheila Dixon, Dumb Crook
This is Sheila Dixon, Mayor of Baltimore and butt-kisser of Barry.
Not that you’d know it from the lack of media reporting, but she’s another member of that vast group of Democrats known as criminals.
Dixon is currently standing trial on charges of theft. Unluckily for her, but wonderful for the rest of us, comes news that a judge is also looking at new allegations against her. And, once the fun and games of this trial are over, she already has another one to look forward to, in March 2010, on charges of perjury!
But let’s not get too excited about the prospect of another Left-wing idiot heading to the penitentiary, because something underhand appears to be going on… I’m no lawyer, but I don’t much like the sound of this. First off, the Maryland State Prosecutor enlisted a private consultant to help select the jury. Aside from being an extra expense on the taxpayers’ tab and a departure from the normal way in which a jury is selected, it would seem that this could have been deemed necessary in order to preempt the trial degenerating into a farcical situation revolving around race, rather than the charges against Dixon.
David Irwin, a former federal prosecutor, stated that,
I can see why they would want to do it in this kind of case. She’s a popular mayor. She’s a woman. She’s an African-American. There are lots of different factors in the equation.
None of which should matter. She is accused of committing crimes. That is all.
But it seems to be more than that. It looks like an attempt to rig the jury, the composition of which, coincidentally, is mostly black and mostly female. Is it a stretch to say that these groups might just be a little more sympathetic towards Dixon’s self-inflicted plight?
Still, the justice system will have two bites of the cherry to get this one right.

The prosecutors in the first O.J. trial spent thousands of dollars on jury selection studies, then ignored what they learned, seated a jury, and the rest is history.
