Media Mind Games
Gateway Pundit, how I love thee (platonically).
The guy’s prolific, and catches wonderful jems like the above AP article, where they attribute tax breaks for homeowners (scheduled to kick in next year) to one Sen. Isakson (D-GA).
Which is all well and good, except for the tiny, tiny error that Sen. Isakson (D-GA) is actually Sen. Isakson (R-GA).
The AP has now corrected the article, but were it only so simple a matter to erase its effects. It could well have been mere carelessness (particularly given that there seem to be no editors in existence any longer), or it could have been deliberate mischief.
After all, remember how the media has the tendency to not write the word “Democrat” when Democrats are caught doing something that they shouldn’t be doing? Well, this is just the logical next step – not mentioning the association of the guilty party was only reactive, so perhaps the AP has decided to embark upon a more proactive strategy whereby anything good is automatically allocated to Democrats and anything bad to the Republicans.
Crawl into a corner and die, AP.

I’m not understanding maybe? I’d think that having an “R” next to the name would be very bad for Republicans, because this article said he was “for” the credits. I know I’m not for any more meddling with people’s buying habits, especially with our tax dollars and with our reckless spending. So I’d think it’d make more sense for the AP to say it truthfully this time and print the “R”. What am i missing?

I love the fact that you can be previously foreclosed, filed for bankruptcy, and have a job which brings in less money per month than your mortgage will require in order to “qualify” for this tax credit. Here we go again!

Yeah, I kinda messed up on this post, as noticed by Candle and Sandy, and was hoping that it would be left to whither and die without receiving any more comments…
