Not Worth The Paper It’s Written On

As you may have heard, Barry has “succeeded” in gaining the unanimous approval of the UN Security Council for a resolution supposedly committing all nations to work for a nuclear weapons-free world.

And it’s as useless as it sounds.

But in the absence of any foreign policy achievements so far, whatsoever, Barry can hold this aloft and proclaim it a victory.

This is an old routine.  The UNSC meets up and agrees to give someone (Barry, this time) a public relations boost by concluding something or other, whatever.  It costs none of them anything, as no concrete action will follow, and allows for a short but false moment of global harmony.

Barry gets to briefly play the returning hero, while the other members of the UNSC will benefit from this goodwill gesture towards America, as Bazza is sure to reward them all with wildly disproportionate goodies at some point in the near future.

But while the boy-king is delirious over this remarkable feat, it cannot be stated often or loudly enough that THIS DOES NOT MATTER.

It is inaction disguised as action, a decades-old policy masquerading as something new.

If Obama truly wanted to do something positive and tangible to avert the looming nuclear catastrophe, then he would exert pressure to give Mohammed El-Baradei the boot and endow the IAEA with some teeth.

But he won’t, because that might be mistaken for real leadership on the US’ behalf.

Rather than take essential nuclear weapons away from those countries that can be trusted with them, how about we just take them off those that can’t be?

Obama must be worried about nuts like Palin, now that she’s trying the cons mystical chants again (Reagen, Reagen, Reagen). Same chants as W, and we saw what a fiasco he was.

Hey silly cons, does trickle down really work?

And Sarah the NutCake says we shouldn’t be cutting our defense, in time of great need. The world is a scary place, like W, Reagen, and Palin have told you with little prompting. Aren’t they all the real terrorists?

      ter⋅ror⋅ist

       –noun
      1. a person, usually a member of a group, who uses or advocates terrorism.
      2. a person who terrorizes or frightens others.

Wow, paranoid much? And what about Clinton? I heard no outrage from you wacks on the left when he sent troops into Somalia. Forgot about that one? We didn’t. Why is it ok when a lefty does it, but not for righty to do the same? Reagan (get your spelling right, doofus) kept assholes like Ghaddafi in check. Kicked his cowardly ass. Haven’t heard a word from that cross dressing POS since Reagan ordered his compound bombed. It’s only now with a PUSSY in the WH does he rear is butt-ugly head and dare to open his mouth again. Reagan would’ve never allowed a terrorist to call him “son”. Palin hasn’t killed anyone and she isn’t advocating killing anyone. But, anyone that thinks there can ever be a nuclear free world is downright, plain stupid. No military = hostile takeover. Period. You sweet children and your idealistic need for a utopia. You make me feel all warm and fuzzy inside.

I agree with you on the above.

But, which is worse, a leader who listens to imaginary beings, and has nukes, or a world that listens to imaginary beings, and is without nukes?

Or hey, lets try, a world that doesn’t listen to imaginary beings at all. That’s my greatest hope.

ps, oh and sorry, my stupid spell check, keeps misspelling your God RayGun.

The world will dispose of Nukes when there is a weapon more powerful to take it’s place.

      Which there might be already.

      Ray,

By the way that you don’t oppose anything in the post itself, but rather go off on a completely unrelated tangent about Sarah Palin, I take it that you agree with my premise?

That the agreement is worthless, that Obama did this to provide brief respite from his ongoing failures everywhere else and that the IAEA should be thoroughly revamped?

Plus, you may have missed this, but Sarah Palin is now a private citizen – she represents conservatives as much as I do.

And, finally, trickle down works infinitely better than the reverse. Name me anywhere, anytime, that “trickle up” has worked?

    7. RayGunNo Gravatar Says:

“And, finally, trickle down works infinitely better than the reverse. Name me anywhere, anytime, that “trickle up” has worked?”

Where has trickle down worked except in the cons delusional world? Who has ever said trickle down is viable? Didn’t RayGun start that whole mythology, and isn’t Palin promulgating it recently? I could be wrong about Palin, as she is so secretive.

    8. Hythloday Says:

You are right, Track. The agreement is not worth the ink used to type it. This proclamation from the UN makes Wilson’s League of Nations actually seem strong and purposeful.

Now to the off topic issue of trickle down. Just curious, RayGun, but I assume you have a job that pays you money. Ever thought about who started the company you work for who has now provided you and your co-workers with income? And how do you think he started his business? With capital (that is cash in case you have not taken economics). So a guy takes a little bit of money and turns it into a successful company and hires you. And what happens to your earnings? They are taxed (for government revenue) and you spend them in the economy. Those purchases are taxed. Now I am pretty sure the government is not getting as much tax revenue (income and sales taxes from your wages and spending of your wages) when your employer is slapped with onerous regulation and confiscatory taxation and thus not able to hire more workers, who in turn create a larger tax base, who spend money that generates sales taxes…..and lo and behold the government increases tax revenue.

I think there is a much greater threat with Pakistan having nukes than with us. The proclamation of the Security Council is indeed nothing more than a publicity stunt.

While I agree in principle that it would be nice if there was a nuke free world it just ain’t gonna happen. Just another pie in the sky, gee wouldn’t it be nice, gosh aren’t we being responsible bamboozling.

Track, you are correct sir. No one else will honor that piece of paper. Our current POTUS might be dumb enough to fall for his own rhetoric, but weakening the US has been a goal of the left for a long time know. Who knows maybe it’s a just a meaningless gesture.

      Not so.

Holding onto the Islamic Republic of Iran despite millions-strong protests against it and local police/military support in the capital city for the protesters themselves, the last surviving foreign policy ’success’ of the Carter ‘administration’ survives intact.

All it would have taken would be one speech from the leader of the free world in support of democracy and reform and it could all have ended with the Persians restoring their former nationhood and a much greater measure of freedom.

But Barrack Hussein Obama chose to say that all the Iranian candidates were pretty much the same and went on to impress his Left-wing pals elsewhere.

Now he wants to disarm what’s left of the free world, and as the Islamists and Russians seem to be immune to the lure of any form of disarmament – this means that we need The Bomb and lots of it.

Sarah Palin is a privte citizen of this country. She has a right to keep any information about herself private. Unless and until she declares herself a candidate for office in this country, she is free to give speeches and talk about pretty much whatever she wants.
