Redefining Definitions
Remember when Bubba Clinton revealed his true genius and unquestionable integrity by pondering what was the definition of “is” during his impeachment?
Well, here’s Barry’s version.
Watch his feigned outrage after being told that what he thinks of as merely an act of re-balancing (because the US economy/society is so inherently unfair and racist, natch) is actually a tax increase.
This is why it’s impossible to debate those on the Left. When they are capable of determining that taxing people at a higher rate does not constitute a tax rise, how are we even supposed to make it past the most basic first act of laying out our respective positions?
This is an essential characteristic of the Left. Every position that they hold should be rendered moot by its own contradictions, but the Left simply overlooks them and carries on regardless.
To wit: we don’t punish success, but we will make the tax burden heavier on those in the middle class and above. We want to reduce the number of abortions, and will achieve this through facilitating access to, and funding of, abortions. We encourage personal responsibility, but will make it pay to be feckless. We will tell you that it’s post-racial to elect a black president, then slander you with charges of racism every time that you have the temerity to disagree with The First African-American President. We will give you a tax “credit”, but call it a tax cut, although the two are as different as peanut butter and marmite (are you guys familiar with marmite? If not, don’t worry -- horrible stuff).
And so on.
Through their inability to see past their own smokescreens, talk with the Democrats is pointless.
