Stupid Unlimited

For people who stumble upon my site through Google, the most popular search terms are “trackacrat” (which either means that some people are hearing about my site or, conversely, that a handful of people know about it but are constantly forgetting its URL), “stupid” and, er, “nips.”
Anyone who enters here having searched for that last term’s gonna be sorely disappointed. Although I do have some small admiration for them, seeing as how they must have trawled through squillions of sites that contained an abundance of “nips” before landing on mine.
Anyway, I’m pleased to be getting some hits from people on the lookout for “stupid.” The only words I use as often as that are moron, idiot and Obama, which all make perfect bedfellows. How a party that contains intellectual giants of the likes of Jimmy Carter and Joe Biden (not to mention hordes of other circus misfits, such as The Human Condom, Man With World’s Largest Head and Mad Scientist No. 1) still manages to sustain an illusion of intelligence, I’ll never be able to explain.
Crazy Joe’s latest pronouncement is that Iran is no longer a threat (nor, in fact, ever was). It was all just a big understanding, you see. The combination of religious nutters + nuclear weapons + stated desire to use said weapons + a burning hatred of everything that is not them = the ideal next-door neighbor!
Only those of us who’ve shunned Utopia and live in the real world could believe that such a combination might prove slightly combustible.
Deliberate Democratic weakness and appeasement is pushing us towards a world where we fight not to extend freedom across the globe but merely to protect that which exists here.

“The combination of religious nutters + nuclear weapons + stated desire to use said weapons + a burning hatred of everything that is not them = the ideal next=door neighbor!”

minus “stated desire to use said weapons”, sounds like the crazy neo cons to me.

no threat…pheeew! thats a relief as I weas a tad worried for awhile.
thud´s last blog ..Making Hay.

RayGun, thud, welcome!
RayGun – relativity is a dangerous game. Remind me how many countries the neo-cons nuked? Do you assume good intentions on the part of dictatorships with nukes?
September 21st, 2009 at 09:31
Track, I don’t think nukes and zealots mix. In that regard, I don’t think Palin would not be a good to have near the button.
And I think Iran is a huge threat.
September 21st, 2009 at 17:20
Track, you think it’s NOT ok for religious nuts on the other side of the ocean to have nukes, but it is ok for religious nuts on this side?
September 21st, 2009 at 17:45
Nope, RayGun, that’s not what I think. The dividing line is the system of governance – democracies with nukes, yes, dictatorships with nukes, no.
Do you consider President Bush to have been a religious nut?
September 21st, 2009 at 18:51
“Do you consider President Bush to have been a religious nut?”
–
Yes I do think W was a religious nut. And according to W, he was going to pray to his Father in heaven about invading Iraq, and I guess we know what the answer to his prayer was.
“democracies with nukes, yes, dictatorships with nukes, no”
Anyone who believes in beings who tells them that Armageddon/Apocalypse is destined, should not have the ability to start such. As we know, just believing something, is sometimes a self fulfilling prophesy. Maybe Obama (the “Messiah”, according to the cons) is way ahead of his time in regard to nukes (I think he is).
September 21st, 2009 at 18:56
‘Fraid you’re gonna have to back that up with something more tangible, RayGun.
I would rather the president believe in God than not (or, worse still, pretend to have faith solely for political gain).
W’s faith was widely broadcast but what did he actually do that was overtly inspired by religion?
I don’t see Obama’s stance on nuclear weapons as ahead of its time – it’s the same old, tired proposal that the Left’s pursued without success for decades.
We have nukes for good reasons, and those reasons have multiplied of late, not diminished.
September 21st, 2009 at 19:05
“I would rather the president believe in God than not …”
Not me.
How can belief in God (in my opinion an imaginary being) who has told them in past writings that any number of atrocities, like killing disobedient children, is just?
“We have nukes for good reasons …”
I think we need a few nukes, as does any country that does not want to be attacked.

Do you consider my words dangerous? Are you moderating me now?
September 21st, 2009 at 19:07
Heh, no, but I was just getting to that – are you leaving each comment from a different computer or providing slightly different info each time (because I’m having to approve each of your comments, which I normally don’t have to do after I’ve approved the very first one)?
September 21st, 2009 at 19:14
“are you leaving each comment from a different computer or providing slightly different info each time”
No, haven’t set that up yet. Want to go anonymous proxy, but haven’t got around to setting it up yet. I feel the need, as I don’t want some crazy con tracking me down
September 21st, 2009 at 19:16
Darn it, that would have been awesomely paranoid if you were switching computers each time (I’m still having to approve your comments, no idea why).

I pay enough to my ISP (200.00 per month), maybe he’s helping me out.
September 21st, 2009 at 19:20
Dang, Ray, you must download a helluva lot of porn to be paying that much…
September 21st, 2009 at 19:28
I know, anymore I think I am getting screwed, without even a tickle. My backup wireless is damn near as fast. I have to renegotiate with them very soon. A 1.5 mbs upload speed is nice, which I use, but still think I can do better.
September 21st, 2009 at 19:32
So what do you think? Does Israel need to do Iran, or does the US?
September 21st, 2009 at 19:42
The way things are going, I don’t think there’s going to be much choice.
Iran’s not going to cease its pursuit of nuclear weapons, the US is not going to use military force (as distinct from an invasion, which was never a possibility) and Israel is not going to tolerate a fervent Islamic nutter with nukes.
And the alternatives to Ahmadinejad, while being better than him simply due to not being him, pretty much all support the nuclear program, from what I’ve read.
No matter what happens, though, it’s only going to be short-term. The only long-term solution is for full democracy to take root in Iran.
Easier said than done…
September 21st, 2009 at 19:55
“The only long-term solution is for full democracy to take root in Iran.”
But, as in most of the religious countries, what if full democracy leads to full theocracy?
Funny, about 3 hours ago I read this excerpt
“Her 1985 novel “The Handmaid’s Tale” imagines a United States taken over by God-fearing fundamentalists sick of democracy and civil rights, especially women’s rights.”
from this review http://www.nytimes.com/2009/09/20/books/review/Winterson-t.html?scp=1&sq=The%20Handmaid%27s%20Tale&st=cse
and I orderd the book from Amazon.
September 21st, 2009 at 20:08
Those countries were never functioning democracies to begin with, Ray.
I’ve read The Handmaid’s Tale, female British author, if I recall (it thankfully has less political connotations than you might expect, or at least more subtle ones, if I remember correctly). Entertaining book, although I prefer Children of Men.
My sister-in-law believes that Republicans want to ban all forms of contraception – tell me you don’t subscribe to that notion, Ray?
September 21st, 2009 at 20:29
“My sister-in-law believes that Republicans want to ban all forms of contraception – tell me you don’t subscribe to that notion, Ray?”
–
No, generally, I don’t think cons believe in that. But it makes sense that they would believe in eliminating contraception, as the act seemingly is against Gods wishes. The Catholics certainly believe that contraception is wrong, and they have the prettiest religion, so they must be right

Track, how do you feel about Palin and her qualifications to lead the most powerful nation in the world?
