    The Big Three-Oh

Friends, thank you all for your birthday wishes.

I normally celebrate a couple days before or afterwards, but the wife is frequently out of town, so it was the day itself this time around.  We went for some drinks at a recently opened roof-top bar overlooking the White House – nothing wild (particularly given the immeasurably more significant events for which 9/11 is now notorious) but a good time with good friends was had.

One bit of news for you, which I mentioned in a post below but will repeat with a little more explanation here.

I’ve just been made a contributor over at the Green Room within Hot Air.  Hot Air, of course, is the brainchild of Michelle Malkin, although its Messrs. Morrissey and Allahpundit who run the place.  Given that y’all have found my site, it’s pretty much a dead cert that you know about Hot Air already, but indulge me for just a moment, won’t you please.

The Green Room comprises about a dozen or so other bloggers, myself now included.  If a GR post is original, covers something that Ed or Allah haven’t, or is otherwise noteworthy, then it may get promoted to the full Hot Air site.

I’ve posted three times in the GR and one was transposed into Hot Air proper today.  Sure, it’s posted here as well, but don’t you want to see how it looks with all the requisite Hot Air finery?

The thought of lots and lots of people reading a post in which I ridicule my ridiculous Prime Minister makes me very happy, indeed.

I’ll still be writing here most often – not all of my posts are suitable for the Green Room.

Thank you all for your visits, comments and emails, and please keep ‘em coming.

I know a couple of members of the Scottish Crime and Drug Enforcement Agency and I am sure they are not amused that the SAS is training the very people they may have to take on in the near future. Hmmm . . . Programmers often leave “back doors” in the code they write for customers. I wonder if the SAS is doing something similar that the self-loathing socialists running things (hopefully temporarily) in the UK would be very cross about if they knew?

Good job, dude. I salute you. I hope to one day get promoted out of the minors to the big leagues too.

I actually rather enjoyed my 30’s more than my 20’s. I had the fun in my 30’s that I somehow missed.

My wife’s already getting twitchy about turning 30 in April…Right now she’s loving that I’m 40 and she’s still in her 20’s and teases me about it often.

Track, I didn’t have time to post here last week when it was your actual birthday. My brother’s birthday is September 11. I try to remember he was born BEFORE the attack and therefore merits my wishes for his continued health and happiness BEFORE I move on to anything else.

The Big 3 – O was one of the best years of my life. Lovely Daughter was born in January of that year and my life has been ever so much better for it. Even 23 years later, as my life is richer and happier than ever, much of it stems from her presence in my life…and now her husband and child, too.

Welcome to grown-up life. It’s better than advertised!

      Happy belated Birthday.

Congratulations on being added as a contributor over at the Green Room. It’s a well deserved recognition. I found your site a couple of months ago and it has become a favorite.

Thanks and keep up the good work.

kc – that’s a good way of doing it (although not for me personally, as I was born after the attacks). Thank you for the encouragement, being 30’s gotten off to a great start already.

RtofCentre – many thanks for the kind words. Not only do I find Americans to be far more optimistic and welcoming people than those anywhere else I’ve lived, but they’re also more generous in their praise (if and when deserved). Glad you like the site, always good to hear from new people!

Happy Birthday and congrats for making the Green Room. Have you been a frequent commenter there? If so, can I ask what your HA handle was?
