9/11 As A Natural Disaster
As President Barry attempts to whitewash 9/11 into an ambiguous could’ve-happened-to-anyone “tragedy” through his refusal to place the blame unequivocally on the shoulders of fundamentalist terrorists and his plans to transform it from a day of commemoration into a day of service, so has it become perfectly acceptable for other components of the loony left to demean the events of that day.
I use quotation marks above for tragedy with good reason: 9/11 was not a tragedy. It was an abomination, a horror and a wake-up call. Deaths from earthquakes, tsunamis and such like are tragedies, for no-one is to blame. “Tragedy” implies that there’s no accountability, that we were helpless to prevent it and that whatever took place just occurred.
Which is exactly how Barry wants to see 9/11.
Not believing that the US stands for all that is right in this conflict (in fact, not even acknowledging that we are at war with militant Islam) means that Barry also does not view the terrorists and their havens as entirely wrong.
This is how history dies, when the man with more influence than anyone else puts his revisionist view on a pedestal. Because it is then adopted by organizations such as the WWF, which sees fit to use 9/11 as a warning to greedy and racist Westerners to curb their unsustainable lifestyles.
How many idiots gave this advertisement the thumbs up? How many of those idiots think that the US “deserved” 9/11? How many of those idiots are themselves American?
And how stupid is the WWF? Because you can guarantee that they raise the overwhelming majority of their funds from guilt-laden American polluters.
Not anymore.
UPDATE 09/07/09: The WWF has apparently realized (very belatedly) just how offensive their now rescinded advert is. To see the horrorshow in all its glory, head on over to Ed Driscoll.

I believe the sleeping giant has been rudely awakened and there is a reckoning coming. Let’s see if the loony left want to ban/burn books after this.

Please don’t get me started on 9/11. We lost someone we loved in that horror so I’m supremely sensitive to anything that smacks of denying what happened to our loved one and the 2,995 others.
Obama wants to turn 9/11 into a National Day of Service – with his asshole green czar leading the charge to focus on the greening of America.
9/11 is a National Day of Mourning – as it should be. To co-opt it for any other purpose is so vile, so disgusting that I can barely speak.
Obama’s stance on the events of 9/11 were reason enough for me to not vote for him – though god knows there were thousands of other reasons.
I will NOT sit by and allow this clueless empty suit to sully the memories of the murdered and injured victims of 9/11. We need to shout from the rooftops as loud as we can that this WILL NOT STAND.

Zero is a pussy. Did you hear he held a Ramadan dinner at the white house? Has any other president done this? Is it policy? It may have happened and just wasn’t broadcast by the lame-ass media, I don’t know. But, he kept saying he was a Christian and then he bowed to the Saudi King, hasn’t found himself a church to go to on a regular basis yet, and now he’s hosting Ramadan dinners. ??? I really don’t care what religion he is, but don’t lie about it. I’ve said from the beginning he’s a Muslim, what with that name of his and all. He identifies with the father that abandoned him more than he does the white grandmother that took him in and raised him. Everything about this guy screams racist Islamic. He’s never taken a stand on 9/11 and now this shit. How dare he belittle what happened on that date and to those people who died. Him and his national day of service. I spit on it and him. He cares more about forcing everyone in the country to do volunteer work (something of which he did very little). It’s not volunteering anymore if you’re forced into it. It’s then called slavery. He can kiss my lily white ass.

Red, good to see you back! I, too, think that the silent majority is awakening. Here’s one of my takes on Barry’s absolutist tendencies.
skiri’ki, it’s like how Barry could not bring himself to say that the US won the Cold War. His moral cowardice and compulsive relativism is deeply repulsive.
Kris, all politicians should know better than to do anything with 9/11. Leave the people to commemorate it is as they see fit. The government trying to turn it to their advantage is, as you say, vile. My condolences regarding your friend, Heather Lee Smith.

I think you have said it all in a very telling phrase. This is EXACTLY how ” history dies” and is all the more dangerous to see how insidiously it can be done. I think we have been here before…the 20th Century alone can produce many candidates for the same distinction.
