    The Ruling Mediocrity

As with all of you, I have a really, really hard time justifying to myself my subordination to stupid people.

Thankfully, it doesn’t happen very often.  I was not brought up nor educated by, and neither have I worked for, stupid people.  I tend not to hang around with stupid people when it’s avoidable (although, truth be told, stupid people in small doses can be very entertaining and magnificent for one’s self-esteem) and I don’t watch the endless glorification of idiots on programs like Big Brother, TMZ and C-Span.

But there is one massive exception, which I’m sure you saw coming…

    Politics.

It’s difficult for me, to say the least, to accept being ruled by idiots.  I subject myself to their expertise in no other area of life, so why should I have to tolerate their imbecilic misconceptions in this most important field?

Idiots aside, everyone else should feel this way.  Why would you trust government to do something for you more than you would trust yourself?  Why are people so ready to accept that government not only knows better than them but actually is better than them?  Why ascribe to government the good characteristics that are absent in so many people?

Politicians are nothing more than implements of the people (well, they shouldn’t by anything more than that, anyway).  They should not be venerated.

And, when the person who sits atop their summit is this awe-inspiring, they should be toppled.

I think, very slowly, the American people are starting to understand that in fact, government doesn’t know what is best for us.

There will always be an extreme left & right on every issue – but I believe more and more Americans are moving a little more to the center from either side.

And since those people – the Independents as they are defined – are of the utmost important to Democrats, I believe we will see a serious rout in 2010.

Some of the biggest Democrat names are showing polling numbers that should make them afraid…

      very afraid.

Kris, I hope you’re right. Independents are a blessing and a curse. I’m not quite sure whether I admire their ability to remain open to both sides or dislike their lack of core convictions…

Your mouth to G-d’s (and the American Voter’s) ear, Kris.

I’m sorry Track. I couldn’t get past the photo long enough to really read the post. Geez! What some people do to themselves. I’ll bet this guy has an underdeveloped frontal lobe.

I think that the biggest major factor in the change of personal responsibility in this country was due to the public school system indoctrinating the easily influenced children with their leftist crap. I don’t remember there being a lot of left leaning teachers when I went to school back in the 60s & 70s, but when my children started school in the early 90s, I saw a lot. Granted, I grew up in a small town so maybe I just wasn’t aware of them or maybe they just didn’t exist in my little world. It was the 60s after all, but I was in elementary school. The education of the children in this country needs to be taken away from the government. I don’t have all the answers, but that’s where I’d start. Government has no business in my kids education, my healthcare, my bedroom or any other aspect of my life. They exist for one reason and one reason only; to protect our borders and the citizens of this country from attack. If they would’ve been doing their job instead of sticking their noses in our business, maybe 9/11 would’ve never happened. Israel had a whiff of the plans and warned our government, but BJ Clinton was too busy sticking his dick in the mouth of Monica Lewinsky to care about such trivial things as the security of our country. So, the dems can lay the blame at the feet of Bush all they want to, but it’s once again a Dem that brought the terror attacks upon us, so forgive me for not having much faith in another dumbass dem to get us out of it or to even protect us. Obama is a pussy and he’s proven it time and time again.

And look at what’s his administration is doing to the CIA right this every minute. How can we trust them to protect this country?

What you are saying here is something I and millions of others think every day. Your words have a way of putting it together…nice work!

One examination of Gordon Brown’s “talent” illustrates your point precisely.

Red, it is a shocker. What a freak.

skiri’ki, Clinton had the chance to take bin Laden and break up the nascent al-Qaeda, but he couldn’t be bothered.

TCL, the US is the enemy in the eyes of these socialist defeatists. Obama is a coward and I don’t like the chances of his preventing another 9/11 when he refuses to recognize (or even name) Islamic fundamentalism.

      LCR, thank you kindly.

Barking Spider, yep, and now Labour have so exhausted their supposed talent pool that they’ve resorted to the likes of Bob Ainsworth (and, previously, Jacqui Smith). Great.
