Read My Lips: No New Taxes
Yeah, I know, if I tried to fill my blog with nothing but instances of bare-faced lies then there’d be no time for eating, sleeping or any other of life’s essential little activities.
But watch as Robert Gibbs strenuously maintains that Barry is not going to raise taxes on the middle class.
This is good stuff -- Gibbs is normally far more evasive than this. Maybe, just maybe, he’s learned something from being openly mocked and having journalists delight in tormenting him, and is attempting to be a little more sincere in his answers.
Not that it’s going to help him.
Because when Barry surrenders to his burning desire to punish the middle class for their success and independence, conservatives are going to have a field day with footage like this.
By the way, if Barry doesn’t raise taxes on the coping classes (which, by my calculations, has about a 0.000748 percent chance of happening) then I’ll go to the nearest public toilet and lick the floor clean.

No single payer health plan…
No nationalization of industries…
No earmarks without posting them online…
I’m going to be transparent…
No passing laws without public review…
I’m not a socialist…

Matt, I feel your pain. We all know that lying comes with the territory, but I don’t think that Barry has uttered a single thing that’s not, at least, a distortion of the facts.
His smile isn’t quite hiding all of his economies-with-the-truth as well as it used to, any more…
