Time To Put This Dog Down
“Blue Dog Democrats” is as oxymoronic as the Nazi-Soviet Pact of 1939 – it’s a convenient, if temporary, illusion with no standing in reality.
So, just as Hitler predictably invaded the Soviet Union with Operation Barbarossa of 1941, it should come as no surprise that the Blue Dogs, despite their supposed commitment to fiscal probity, have lined up behind the rest of the doctrinaire socialists known collectively as the Democratic Party in support of Cap-’n'-Tax.
And what, do I hear you ask, was the price of their vote?
Why, all it took for them to collude in what will come to be known as the most intrusive, expensive and state-enabling piece of legislation of all time was a mere $2,000!
They could’ve at least driven a harder bargain, rather than emulating the anything-for-a-dollar attitude of crack-whores.
Majority Whip James Clyburn (D-SC), who, as you’ll recall, doles out the largesse not only to his Democratic bedfellows but also to members of his own family, joined Nancy “Bella” Pelosi and Henry “The Hunk” Waxman in dishing out lotsa money to Democrats who were threatening to think and act independently.
Which, were they to do so, would obviously herald terrible consequences for our democracy and its identity politics, not to mention the simpletons for whom Democrat=good and Republican=bad is already a masterstroke of academic achievement.
Being a “Blue Dog” allows wavering Democrats to sometimes register their limp protest against Democratic excesses and score points with a couple of independents/Republicans. And that’s all. Blue Dogs who allegedly do not agree with unlimited taxpayer-funded abortions or economy-busting climate legislation pretend to have objections, perhaps vote against (or not at all) and then state that they were powerless to stop the bill from passing.
Oh, well! They tried!
They get the satisfaction of both saying in public that they were in opposition while enjoying in private the enactment of another of their party’s policy planks.
Shameless liars does not even begin to cover it.

Yes, we can’t allow ourselves to be lulled into complacency by relying on the “blue dog democRATS”. They have sold America out before, and they will likely do it again.
