Now I Shall Destroy You
I have a new hero and his name is Harry Alford.
For he is awesome.
Check out the vid as he destroys she-thing Sen. Barbara Boxer (D-CA).
Boxer, in her botoxed wisdom, decided that she would disagree with Harry Alford (who, by the way, is chair of the National Black Chamber of Commerce) by quoting the findings of other black people/organizations back at him.
The “why” is still not clear. But it’s probably because she assumed that if she showed him how his opinion differed from that of other African-Americans, then Harry would be a good boy and fall into line. (Boxer is far from alone in expressing this sentiment -- remember when Charles Rangel also said that black people should only vote for black candidates?)
There is nothing so condescending, as Harry rightfully points out, as left-wingers who take the black vote for granted and patronize those African-Americans who dare to think differently.
Harry proceeds to publicly and mercilessly destroy Boxer. Think of an evening sunset, a cute lil’ puppy and a milkshake all mashed up together, and you’re still nowhere near the beauty of watching Boxer get pwned.
Particularly when he states that,
“We’ve been looking at energy policy since 1996 and we are referring to the experts, regardless of their color.”
I just wander what Boxer’s face would have looked like, were it capable of displaying human emotion…

I see the point but only barely. I’m no fan of Senator “Ma’am” but I guess I’m not seeing where Mr. Alford got so bent out of shape. Is it that she was deferring to another black group who supported her agenda? Would his reaction been different had she quoted another group (non-black)?
Enlighten me because while I can sort of see what the issue is, he seems like a person that is quick to jump on “race” as an issue.

Red,
My reaction would normally be similar to yours, and Alford is pretty quick to pounce on the race issue.
But I think it’s valid, here. Boxer was effectively telling Alford that because he’s black, he should therefore agree with the findings of other (more numerous) black individuals/organizations that align themselves with Boxer.
Boxer was bringing race into something (energy policy!) that had nothing to do with race. Worse still, she was attempting to use the views of other African-Americans to browbeat the man in front of her, rather than just disagree with him herself.
The Left hates nothing more than minorities who dare to resist their fatal embrace. People like Harry Alford terrify Democrats. So Boxer tried to softly undermine him, not by questioning his science but by questioning his standing.

Barbara B. was quick to stop an American general who called her Ma’am, but failed to say anything when a black man called her the same thing. This in itself shows you where the lady is coming from. I enjoyed every minute of the dressing-down Harry Alford gave her–I suspect she is still stinging from it.

Ah. Okay. I did see that but only barely so thanks for the in-depth.
