Honorary Citizens Are Expensive
Yeah, yeah, before anyone else says it, I wish that the picture above were still true.
But, if nothing else, the spanking in the last election will ensure that the Republican Party returns to some of its better habits. I hope.
Although they’re still a far better bet for fiscal sanity, no matter how remote that may be, than the necromancers comprising the Democratic Party, who are going to somehow magick vast sums of money out of thin air.
Or out of the pockets of the successful, at any rate.
But there are options other than attacking those who create wealth for the rest of us (note to Lefties: although you’ll never admit it, governments CANNOT create wealth). Let’s look at just one.
Stop spending mammoth amounts of taxpayer money on illegal immigrants.
Estimates of what CA spends annually on educating, incarcerating and providing health care for illegal immigrants hovers around the $10 billion mark (thank you, Matt @ Conservative Hideout 2.0), give or take a couple billion dollars.
And CA’s budget deficit is $26 billion. Do the math.
Even better, however, is the fact that CA gives illegal immigrants monthly welfare checks? WTF? The only expense that should be associated with illegal immigrants is the cost of kicking ‘em out.
And we should then send them the check for that, too.

The sad thing is that so many of these states are looking to close budget gaps by raising taxes, when cutting ridiculous spending is off the table. We need people to lead, not be beholden to every special interest group on the planet!

Several months ago, Californians shut down five out of six of these “it’s for the children” ballot propositions to put squarely face-to-face with the $26 bn shortfall and still the California Teachers Ass’n union has ads running that Schwarzenegger is an evil villain who broke his promises to the children by cutting education, etc.
Jeez-s! It’s annoying living in a state run by the se little-johnny-one-notes whjo just don’t seem to get the message: WE’RE F**KING OUT OF MONEY FOLKS BECAUSE YOU SPEND IT ON AID AND COMFORT OF PEOPLE WHO HAVE FUNDAMENTALLY BROKEN THE LAW BY ENTERING AND WORKING IN THIS COUNTRY ILLEGALLY.
I really am beginning to think one has to be terminally stupid to be a Democrat and/or a leftist.
Do I hope for a stunning rebuke at the polls in 2010? Hell no! I am fervently praying we have a full-on, pitch-fork and torch carrying mob march on Washington and Sacramento and throw these bums out on into the streets. I hope these turds get flushed down the crapper and out into the ocean (to be environmentally unsound). I hope all of the good citizens grab their powder, shot, and muskets and assemble on the common; it’s time for the next revolution.
