Michelle Obama needs help.
The lady apparently cannot go out in public without some kind of major wardrobe malfunction.
Did she think that what she wore above was respectful of the Pope? She looks like she’s attending a funeral, going to a devil-worshiping session or trying to become the next Dark Lord of the Sith.
Or perhaps it’s a Halloween costume (because, granted, Pope Benedict XVI can also look a little creepy himself – please please please don’t send me to Hell for that, Holy Father, I repent, I repent!).
So, we’ve seen Slum Michelle; Colorblind Michelle; Modest Michelle; and now Morbid Michelle.
What’s next?
(PS – If you think that the Pope resembles a slightly deranged Santa Claus [sans beard]/Emperor Palpatine, then check out this guy. Yikes.)

Be careful, I’m meeting the pope. No color, be respectful in black. Yeah a veil too – show I’m a woman of the world like my husband. I can offend anywhere I go.
Funereal – which somehow seems appropriate given that her husband is singing the death knell of this country.
(BTW, can’t remember how I go to this place but I like it; hope you don’t mind if I come back…).

Except for a Catholic Queen Regnant who may wear white, a woman is supposed to wear black and cover her head in the presence of the Pope.
I’m actually surprised Michelle didn’t think that the Catholic part was optional and wear a white sleeveless sundress.

That said, the FLOF’s outfit is a bit too casual (and ugly) for a meeting with the Pope. Ugly blouse/skirt combo…plus the belt. (Michelle, you just negated the slimming effects of black attire by tying an ugly belt around your booty.)
As for the veil…ladies usually wear a mantilla…but Michelle wanted to represent the people well, so she went with a Chicago style veil:
