Pretender To The Throne
Sure, they’re all smiles on the surface but once you get past the epidermis, things get a little more fraught.
For there are now two men on Earth claiming to be God’s representative.
In the red corner, we have Joseph Alois Ratzinger, aka Pope Bendict XVI. And in the blue corner, we have Barry Soetoro, aka Barack Hussein Obama.
Both men are inspirational figures, both have a devoted following and both work tirelessly to spread their creed (although only one of them supports the murder of unborn babies).
As ever, history provides a prior example of a seemingly unique situation. The period between 1378 – 1415 is known as the Great Schism, for there were two (and, briefly, three) concurrent popes, with one based in Rome and the other in Avignon.
Regardless of the ensuing fun and games, agreement was eventually reached at the Council of Constance in 1414 to reunite the Papacy in Rome (under Pope Martin V in 1417).
But this happy ending was brought about only after the introduction of a third challenger to the title of pope.
If history is to repeat itself, who might today’s third player be?

I think Obama should become Pope, just as long as we don’t worry that he’s not Catholic.
