The Million $ Question (Handbag)

Boy, can the media do its job or what?
Sure, they can’t be bothered to find out anything about Barry’s time at universities, nor his sojourn as a community organizer, his links with ACORN, his ties to terrorists, racists and communists, his dealings with Mayor Daley and the rest of the poker crew up in Chicago, or any of the rest of the small stuff, but don’t sweat it.
Because they’re pouring their energy into finding out whether Michelle Obama paid a mere $875 or a mega $5,950 for an Italian VBH handbag.
VBH itself, justly proud of the First Wifey’s excess, says that it’s the real deal. Or they did, at least, until the White House stated the opposite, whereupon VBH corrected their statement, saying that Michelle’s was indeed the cheaper variant, a much more economical $900.
Good job the White House cleared that up for them. After all, how could VBH be expected to recognize one of their very own designs?
As nice a combination as this bag indubitably makes with her $540 sneakers, I still think that it would’ve been wiser to spend this type of money on more suitable clothes for both herself and her daughter.
But no matter how much is spent, one cannot buy class.

$6,000 or $900, still too much! I’ve never paid more that $50 for a purse, much nicer than that.
And who the hell dressed her spawn? The weather underground? What a f-ing joke, now he has his kids all up in this mess. Don’t think that her wearing both shirts wasn’t a CALCULATED thing.
This whole family is worse than the bev. hillbillies…at least they had class.

So what, the Obamas have their own money and there’s no implication anywhere that any wrong doing is afoot. Regardless of the actual cost, its their money, let them do what they please.
As for all the things the media can’t do, wouldn’t it be more likely that they tried and failed to find anything of relevance? No one’s perfect but the media loves anything juicy and your implication that they turned a blind eye is awfully conspiratorial…

Yup, T, there is nothing wrong with them spending their money however they see fit.
If only President Obama would accord us the same favor by not taxing all our disposable income away.
And also not pretend that he’s making sacrifices that the rest of us are forced into actually doing.
I think that you’re being willfully blind about the media’s failure to investigate Obama’s past, though. It’s not that they didn’t find anything – it’s that they didn’t even look.
We know very little about the man, aside from his own highly-sanitized account. And what we do know should make everyone uncomfortable.

What really rags me is that hers and hubbies plans for us DON’T include even $900 bags. We will be relegated to Goodwill or Target, if we can afford a bag at all. But hypocrisy is old hat for the left. They don’t even try to hide it anymore. They just compound their hypocrisy by calling conservatives hypocrites.

to quote Belknap
“So what, the Obamas have their own money and there’s no implication anywhere that any wrong doing is afoot. ”
Yea they made their money back in the ‘good ole days’ like LBJ, remember his story. Got elected to Congress when he was a school teacher, didn’t have a pot to pee in, retired after many years as a politician a multimillionaire. Got it all honestly, yep, every penny of it.
Here’s the Chicago Hillbillies, never had a job that wasn’t a handout, neither of them, always got their money from “other’s funds” But they have a lot of the right ‘connections’. everyone on the dole has a mansion in Chicago. right?
But at least it’s ‘their money’.
