We Must Help These People

Look at the size of that crowd! Look at it!
They want what American has given or restored to Germany, Italy, France, Austria, Belgium and the rest of continental Europe, Afghanistan, Iraq, South Korea, Japan, Taiwan, Russia (kinda), the former Soviet Union satellites (well, to be accurate, they range from “mostly democratic” to “not at all democratic”) and lots of other places, at one time or another.
Freedom.
As is abundantly clear, I prefer to write mocking posts. They’re both easier and more fun – and tell me anyone who doesn’t like that combination.
Iran is normally an easy target. A “religious” elite running a country as a theocracy? In the 21st century? What?
But things in Iran are getting worse and worse. And by that, I actually mean that they’re getting better and better. Because, while the regime there may survive temporarily, it cannot withstand opposition of this depth permanently.
Khamenei has decided to set himself against every single protester by claiming that the vote was free and fair. I pray that the same fate as Nicolae Ceauşescu, Benito Mussolini, Saddam Hussein and countless other despots awaits Khamenei.
The Iranian people, meanwhile, continue their protests, despite the inevitable crackdown getting closer and closer.
And, just for good measure, the Iranian envoy to the UN has admitted that their nuclear program is for the express purpose of obtaining a nuclear weapon. He must’ve been so excited by the events back home that he just couldn’t contain himself and blurted it out.
But still President Intern does nothing.

BHO is failing this test and failing to stand up for freedom.

Welcome, AOW, and thank you for commenting.
Barry can talk about advancing freedom all he likes but without any robust action to back it up, it’s just more empty words.
