The Bible According To Barry

Once upon a time, there was a man named Barry.
Barry was a fabled being; black and white, Christian and Muslim, African and American.
Being all things to all people, Barry’s future was sure to be enchanted.
As he got older, people often told him nice things. Barry liked this and, pretty soon afterwards, began to repeat himself what other people had said – that he did indeed have a gift.
Barry lived a mysterious live. He was born, became a young man and then – taa daa! – became the 44th president of America. Just like a certain Nazarean, little is known about the years in-between, except for hushed whispers of working miracles in Gomorrah’s descendant city, Chicago.
From being a community organizer to an organizer of nations, Barry now had the perfect stage from which to work his magic. As he gazed upon the huddled masses, a familiar thought ran through Barry’s mind: things were turning out exactly how they were supposed to.
Filled with this divine belief, Barry set about solving the problems of the whole wide world. He worked long and hardish, sometimes wishing he had more free time and sometimes rewarding himself just a little, and at the end of his labors, he turned to the people, eager to bask in the warm glow of their eternal gratitude.
But there was a surprise waiting for Barry, one that he wouldn’t enjoy very much.
And they all lived happily ever after.

By surprise you mean that he will lose in 2012, when he runs for a second term? Although the country needs a checks and balances, the mainstream media makes it no picnic for any Republican these days. In spite of his blundering the economy, Obama has maintained high marks with their help, and I doubt if this will change anytime soon.

W,
There are lots of potential surprises to fantasize about. That he loses in 2012, as you say, or his party deposes him, or he self-combusts, or Jimmy Carter adopts him, etc. Any one will do.
Great site, I’m following you.

Track-a-crat, thank you for following my blog. I’m glad I came over here to find you because this post is a crack up! We DO have to liven things up or they become too much to bear. I sure hope you are right. After all, look what happened to 1-term-wonder, Jimmy Carter. The media was RUDE to Ronald Reagan, ridiculed him for being a “B” movie actor for months and months. He won with a huge margin of victory. People had had enough of Carter, and no amount of left-wing media support made it better. So there. We beat Carter and we can beat Obama. With or without the media.

I’m trying to imagine him in his basque( or is it hers?). A diversionary thought but doesn’t detract from the overall legitimacy of the article. Are we talking sharks here?
