Gitmo’ Money Gitmo’ Problems

Oh dear.
President Intern’s far-left exploiting, ill-thought out I’ll-shut-Guantanamo-Bay-down-yesterday pledge is turning out to be a bit of a nightmare for him.
First, he theatrically signs a closing order, the small print of which states that Guantanamo will stay open for another year and quite possibly longer.
Then, proposals to not only release terrorists into the US but also make them eligible for social security are leaked, much to the displeasure of us little people.
And now, Obama is resorting to lies when denying that Chancellor Merkel refuses to take any Gitmo prisoners. He says that they haven’t yet discussed specific conditions of doing so; she, on the contrary, says that they have and that Germany will not be playing along with house-the-unrepentant-terrorist.
German Interior Minister Wolfgang Schäuble has stated that Germany will not accept people who cannot travel to the US on a simple tourist visa, which the detainees, if/when released, will not be able to acquire. I hope.
Thus is Obama left with essentially two awful (for him) choices:
1) Keep them incarcerated and outrage his loony, but faithful, base.
2) Release them into the US and instantly become the most detested president ever.
There is a third. Feed the detainees to the eternally hungry sea god, but that’s about as likely as Obama having the spine to link the words “Islamist” and “terrorism.”
