Only 2815 To Go

Fox News is reporting that Khalid Sheikh Mohammed was waterboarded 183 times.
Expert analysts (i.e. not me) have stated that the information he subsequently “volunteered” has disrupted dozens of Al-Qaeda attacks, soooo…
Should we indulge in pointless self-flagellation over how he was treated (the Left) or focus instead on the lives we have saved and the lives we now know to end (the Right)?
Like that needs an answer.
Have a little insight into my mind, right-minded people. I have a torture closet in my the inner recesses of my psyche (nothing S&M related, you understand – that’s elsewhere) where I like to picture what I’d do to Hitler, Stalin, Mao, Bin Laden, Pelosi, etc.
Torture there is easy. I just pretend I’m listening to U2 and start wailing away. Hey, if I’m suffering, then they’re definitely suffering more.

I’m finding that more often than not, conservatives are willing to overlook Constitutional principles in light the fact that they might bring about certain results. No matter how consequential these specific factual considerations, the basis for the the constitutional principles was specifically to avoid such results-based characterizations. Under the grand scheme of the Framers of the US, we are protected (and yes, protect others, because that’s how we roll), the fact that we may be benefited from such anti-constitutional treatment is ALWAYS inadequate in light of the purpose of the rule.
Mr. Track-A-Crat, these principles were developed in response to our practical knowledge stemming from our previous experience with Monarchs (you know whose…) and their willingness to further their own interests at the expense of the people.
Where government acts against the better judgment of those who knew better, it spits in the face of good judgment and higher values. It also tramples all over the people who it supposedly serves.
