How Not To Dispel Rumours

President Obama spoke at Georgetown University yesterday and insisted that the monogram “IHS” – symbolizing the name of Jesus Christ – be covered over.
Because he’s such a devout Christian.
You know what I hate? Do you?
If you’ve ever read anything on this site, or even just seen the full title, then you’ve probably got a pretty good idea.
I hate that politicians of the Left are so inordinately terrified of committing themselves to any firm beliefs or values that they incessantly portray themselves as meaning all things to all people. Their duplicity is only surpassed by their cowardice in refusing to acknowledge that absolutes do exist, that some things are intrinsically better than others.
Name me something, one thing, where the democracies have anything to learn from the rest of the world? In their treatment of women? Or minorities? Or homosexuals? Or their practice of “democracy”? Their justice, law enforcement, military or health systems? Their state provided education or infrastructure?
You cannot.
So why does President Obama go to such extraordinary lengths to emphasize that everything is equally valid? Why does he refuse to champion what is so evident?
Because covering the IHS is a small symptom of something far more dangerous. It is indicative of BO’s core belief that the USA is no better than Saudi Arabia, Zimbabwe or China.
In his infantile view, America is at best lucky to be what it is or, at worst, has achieved its status only through exploitation and manipulation on a global scale.
But don’t you dare question BO’s patriotism.
