Power To The People

So I attended the DC Tea Party this afternoon (just about), with the renowned Smitty, of The Other McCain fame.
I just wish it had been like the above Tea Party at the Alamo.
The weather in DC was miserable, but a fair number of valiant souls turned up nevertheless.
In retaliation against the weather, I wanted to go smash up some bastions of corporatist-fascist-globalization (isn’t that what always happens? Why should the Left have all the fun?) but Smitty, voice of relative sanity and veteran that he is, dissuaded me.
By instead proposing that we go drink beer! With wings and burgers!
Now, remember that I’m not American. But I try. Doing ultra-American things (chiefly eating too much, calling people “buddy” and shouting at the television) fills me with such primordial joy that it’s hard to express.
Imagine the joy a toddler derives from simultaneously stuffing his face and pooping his pants and you’re getting close.
Anyway, this protest was good: the next will be better. There are going to be many.
