At times, I’m tempted to bite my own tongue off.
In vain but painful protest, you understand, at the widespread massacring of the English language.
Not only the type of mangling done so inimitably by Rep. Corrine Brown, but also the distortion of language that is the hallmark, the sine qua non, of Leftists everywhere.
Over at No Quarter, John Batchelor writes about Team Obama’s “brainstorming new diplomatic words and definitions in order to find a way not to confront Tehran over its nuke weapons programs.”
Because nicer words are sure to make the mad mullahs stop pursing nukes.
Were I to possess the power, aside from bringing Che Guevara back to life as a sentient toilet brush, I would smite certain words from existence.
Especially “progressive”, “social justice”, “fairness” and “honorary citizens.”
Every single hideously Leftist idea that I’ve ever read/heard/had shouted at me has started, or at least contained, one of those accursed words.

Doesn’t matter if you ban those words. When they have thoroughly desecrated the word, much as they did with “Liberal”, they’ll find something else. Without casting aspersions or making insinuations, this is right out of Lenin’s playbook.

Agree entirely. Remind me again what the American definition of “liberalism” has in common with the classical definition of “liberalism”?
