Most focus on Democrats. Probably, say, 15 or so are unfavorable towards the Republicans.
So, kinda like how (the country of) Georgia currently has 1 soldier in Afghanistan and can therefore state that it’s an active member of ISAF, those vital 15 posts allow me to officially lay claim to bipartisanship.
Wow! That does feel good! Particularly when one uses the cover of bipartisanship to actually be acidly partisan.
Moving on, to Silvio Berlusconi. I’d love to love you. You’re successful, hideously wealthy, Italian, conservative (for whatever that means in Europe) and shamelessly vain, à la Joe Biden.
But he’s also a little crazy. One of the last things his government did before losing power in 2005 was pass electoral reform that made coalition government in Italy extremely unwieldy.
The subsequent socialist coalition did then fall, after less than two years in office. Allowing for the return of Berlusconi as Prime Minister last year.
