Succeeding Where Stalin Failed

President Obama has demanded, and received, the resignation of GM CEO Rick Wagoner as part of his auto industry bailout.
In the 1920s, Lenin and Stalin instituted the New Economic Policy – an unhappy marriage of command economy and free-market practices that, though saving the Soviet economy from total collapse, was hated by every fiber of Stalin’s being. It didn’t last too long.
Some people thought that President Obama, true to his more moderate campaign language, would shy away from his radical tendencies once in office.
Suckers.

Not that the boys at General Motors have done a bang up job or anything the last few years, but . . . I keep thinking that if the Obama crew would just focus on getting the banks fixed and credit flowing again a lot of this US business pain and sufferi…

Okie,
True, indeed, the GM execs have run their own company into the ground. But it is still not the president’s place to fire the staff of private enterprises.

So, by using this logic, Obama should have asked most of Congress and the Senate to resign…. right?

…maybe Obama could just go ahead and craft his own resignation….after all, HE has yet to produce a viable plan.

We all know the methods of the USSR. Could we be far behind? The passage of HR 1388 (GIVE) is taking us down memory lane harkening back to the days of the Brown Shirts and Hitler Youth. Go to Thomas.gov and read the Bill. Frightening that “community organizations” are going to have a broader reach into our schools to “educate” children.

Sandy, I have been utterly shocked and depressed since reading the GIVE Act. My nieces and nephews are angry at the prospect of giving up a year or two of their lives for conscripted mandatory volunteer service.
The Constitution is in the shredder. The 13th Amendment prohibits slavery and involuntary servitude.
Why is the First Black President ™ reinstituting slavery?
A political cartoonist needs to draw Abraham Lincoln memorial statue, but Abe is jumping up out of his chair with a shocked look on his face.
My nieces and nephews are suddenly very interested in the Constitution and learning what their rights are. They want to resist the conscription. They are mad about themselves and their future children getting stuck with the stimupork tab, and now a year or two of their lives is going to get stolen, where they can’t even work on paying it back.
BHO:
GFY!
