Moral Hazard

Jacqui Smith, the UK’s Home Secretary and whose primary qualification for government (alongside keeping the twins in plain sight in the Mother of Parliaments) is that she has said “yes” to every socialist initiative ever proposed, has been enjoying the perks of office with her husband.
After watching a couple of pornos at home, Jacqui submitted the bill for the television package as an expenses claim, God love her.
That’s pretty hard to beat as a sign of the contempt with which politicians treat the electorate.
And for all those who think of Brits as a sexually repressed people, here’s this week’s other sex scandal – a drunken + videotaped + adulterous affair in the House of Commons.
Naughty, naughty!
