Thanks, But No Thanks
Jon Cannon has today withdrawn from consideration for the EPA’s second highest position.
Now, Belgium has functioned just fine (for Belgium, anyway) despite not having a government for the last two years, on-and-off.
But we’re not talking here about some rump buffer-state fantasy construction (Belgium, by the way, is great, particularly Flanders. But it’s still a wicked easy target).
We’re talking about the US of A.
The full story is yet to unfold, but it would seem that Jon served on the board of America’s Clean Water Foundation. Which, in 2007, was found to have not been whiter-than-white about $25 million awarded in federal grants between 1998 and 2003.
Once again, the White House’s vetting procedures pass with flying colors.
