Politics has been debased as a profession. More than anything else, this is because it is now little more than a get-rich-quick scheme. The ethos of public service has been replaced by thoroughly selfish attitudes.
Most presidents wait until they are no longer in office to cash-in.
Not so with President Obama.
Already accustomed to being paid for doing nothing (working with ACORN? Two books where he wrote about teenage angst and getting into good schools?), he agreed a new $500,000 book deal days before taking office – to adapt “Dreams From My Father” for middle-school-aged children.
Wanna bet how long it’ll be before this is a compulsory school textbook?
