Security Is Overrated
Living in DC, I know nearly every voter who chose McCain last November (not hard considering President Obama won over 96% of the votes cast in DC).
I also know a great many Virginians who boasted proudly that they were going to turn VA purple (blue, as it turns out, for the first time since 1964).
Most of them work in the defense industry or something related to it.
Bet’cha they don’t feel so clever now. These people must have known that they were voting against their jobs.
I wonder if that warm feeling, borne from having done the right thing back in Novemeber, still lingers?
