Hot on the heels of President Obama’s last backhanded slap to the jowls of the British Prime Minister comes another one.
Gordon Brown, unelected leader of the UK (and general weirdo – warning, scary photo), today gave President Obama a historic pen holder carved from the oak timbers of a Victorian anti-slaver, HMS Gannet. A thoughtful, fitting gift.
[BTW, Britain abolished the slave trade in 1807 and slavery itself in 1833. For the remainder of the 19th century, despite what many people think they know, the Royal Navy enforced anti-slavery throughout the globe.]
And what did Gordo receive in return?
A collection – I kid you not – of 25 dvds!
Lest there was any doubt about the freezing of the Special Relationship, now let there be none.
